This antique Royal Grafton teacup and saucer sparkles with a ruffled edges and fuchsia flowers. The background is a warm cream and the edges are framed in gold.
The pedestal cup has soft panels and a unique handle. It wears the backstamp from 1957. In Japan, fuscia symbolizes good taste. In other countries, they are known for love, trust and even protection.
Royal Grafton was produced under the company A B Jones and Sons Ltd of the Grafton Works in Longton, England. The original owner was the mayor of Longton. Later the sons and grandson took over the company. This was considered one of the better companies and even received a royal warrant from Queen Mary.
