Remarkable for its ability to coordinate with a variety of table linens and settings, this blue Wedgwood teapot is elegant.
This piece has the manufacturing date of 1955 incised in the bottom. This is called Jasperware Wedgwood. It is noted for its velvety finish on the outside. The inside is shiny with holes in the neck to help strain the tea. The details are superb. For example, the spout is trimmed with a garland. This was done during the firing process. There is an air hole in the lid to prevent dripping when being poured.
Wedgwood of England is known for its use in the finest homes worldwide.
