Whether it is afternoon tea or morning coffee, it is a soothing way to enjoy your beverage.
This smaller size is harder to find. The pattern is called Rosebud, number 13426. The pale aqua handle and finial along with the soft pleats in the china decorate the piece perfectly.
The inside is lovely and clean. It has the traditional china straining holes inside at the base of the spout. It also has an air hole in the lid to prevent dripping and splashing when pouring tea. There are also one tip tab on the under side of the lid to prevent the lid from falling off when the piece is in use.
Shelley became highly prized because they employed the best artisans of the day and used the most expensive materials available in their production. They became highly prized and still are extremely popular.
The price is for teapot as well as free US shipping and free insurance.
Measurements: The pot is 8" from spout tip to the outer edge of the handle. It is 4 " wide and 4.5" tall. It holds 15 liquid ounces or almost two cups of liquid. That translates to mean that this is considered a small teapot.
This teapot is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. You may buy with confidence. We do not sell damaged items. There are a couple of tiny dots under the glaze that have surfaced after decades. This is common in the older clay even with Shelley.
