Ever watch Wedgwood being made? This is the traditional olive green Wedgwood. We had difficulty capturing the colors correctly. For those of you who love the English company, this is the usual green.
The vine pattern is cut by hand and gently placed upon the olive green clay before it is baked. Any mistakes are discarded. Pride in their workmanship created quality pieces.
This is a green jasperware, matte finish, vanity tray in the shape of a stylized rectangle. It also serves as a desk accessory for paper clips or other small objects. It is incised with the company name "Wedgwood" on the bottom as well as Made in England. The accompanying paper work is dated 1986. The original box is also included. It describes the piece as an oblong tray.
The figures are probably three of the nine Greek muses who protected the Arts. Apollo is using playing the lyre.
Perhaps you would like to use to present an heirloom piece of jewelry or an engagement ring. It is also perfect for a vanity table.
Measurements: It is 6" long by 3.25" wide by .75" high.
