Whether it is afternoon tea for two or morning coffee, it is a soothing way to enjoy your beverage.
Pink roses cascade upon the pleated folds of this wonderful Shelley bone china. The pattern is called Bridal Rose. The cup and saucer are in the Dainty shape. The pink trim creates the perfect rim for this floral teacup and saucer.
Shelley became highly prized because they employed the best artisans of the day and used the most expensive materials available in their production. They became highly prized and still are extremely popular.
In addition we have the matching pattern that was copied by a competitor, Royal York. In their company, it is called Sweetheart Rose. The sweet teapot or coffeepot holds 16 fluid ounces. The cup holds 6 oz.
Royal York was owned by the Salisbury Crown China Company. They manufactured in Longton, England and closed in 1961.
There weren't any copyright laws in those days. It is common for companies to copy each other's best selling designs.
The price is for pot and teacup and saucer. Some of the trim is hand painted.

Measurements: The saucer is 5.75" in diameter. The cup is 2.5" high and 3.5" from rim to rim. The pot is 6" from spout tip to the outer edge of the handle. It is 3" wide and 6" tall.
This set is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. You may buy with confidence. We do not sell damaged items.
