This hand painted teapot was created in England by Roslyn Bone China. Inspired by the royal gardens of Windsor Castle, this pattern is called Garland.
Roslyn China Co. Ltd of England crafted this elegant teapot. They were located in the Park Place Works, Longton, England. They produced lovely bone china beginning in 1946. Prior to that they were known as Reid & Co.
From the English china registry number, 846563, on the backstamp, we know that the piece was made in 1946.
It holds 24 fluid ounces close to the rim. This is usually called a five cup teapot. It is a charming, intimate little vessel. There is a tab on the lid inside to help prevent it falling when pouring.
Measurements: From the spout to the outer handle, it is 9". It is 4.5" wide and 4.5" high including the finial.
This elegant tea pot is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. In fact, it was purchased, placed on a shelf and never used. There a few quite faint imperfection dots within the clay. They are not obvious. They do show in the pictures because we have magnified the pictures. We do not sell damaged items. You may buy with confidence.
