High society delighted in fur stoles and they have seen a revival in vintage clothing as well as glamorous winter weddings.

Silver gray stoles are very difficult to find. This is natural, not dyed.

This particular light mink stole was top of the line in its day. We know this because it has extra thoughtful design elements. There are two front pockets. There are also suggestions of sleeve openings which are actually just tabs joining the front and back. The purpose is to help keep the stole on without always having to hold on to it.

There is a touch of a beige undercoat, but the silver gray is dominant. The picture of it being worn looks rather beige. That is because the photo was taken under a strong yellow light. The others were taken in daylight which show its true color.

The lining is a gray taupe satin brocade. There are no holes or tears with the exception of a tiny repair near where it is attached to the fur itself. It is hardly noticeable.

There are no odors. This is a quality fur which was purchased from an estate.

The ends are 8" wide. In the back, from the collar seam to the bottom of the stole, it measures 15" The two front pockets are 5" for the curved openings. From the collar seam, across the shoulder to the bottom side is 17.5". (This is like measuring a sleeve.) From the shoulder to the bottom in front is 23".

The collar is 5" at its deepest. It is lined with satin as well. "Armhole to armhole" is about 20" This means that when it is being worn, the measurement across the back is about 20 at the mid level.

This appears to be a medium size. It would probably fit from a size 6 to a size 12. Please read the measurements. We are not experts at sizing. Having said that, stoles are the one item of clothing in which size is not as important.

This stole is in excellent condition. It is clean, soft and supple. There are no tears, wear spots or stains in the mink. Although we wish to sell, we prefer to have loyal, satisfied, repeat customers. We do this by fully describing every flaw that we see. You may buy with confidence.
