High society delighted in fur stoles and they have seen a revival in vintage clothing as well as glamorous winter weddings. We took one picture holding flowers such as bridesmaid or bride might do.
This is called a Pastel, a natural light brown mink. All of this means that it is not dyed and it is a thick, luscious fur. It is commonly referred to as Autumn Haze or a very light brown. This one is half way between brown and blond.
The lining is a golden taupe satin. There are no holes, tears or stains. This has been crafted by stylists. They molded the shoulder so that it stays on the person more easily. There is one hook at about the middle. That would allow a bride or bridesmaid to be hands free.
There are no initials or names inside. There is no label. There was one that was removed years ago.
This is a quality fur. There are no holes or tears. It is thick and supple. What makes this stole better than average is the shoulder styling. It is molded to stay on the shoulder and fit, rather than falling off. This is a sign of better craftsmanship.
The ends are 11" wide. In the back, from the collar seam to the bottom of the stole, it measures 19" There are two 6" pockets on the outside in front. From the collar seam, across the shoulder to the bottom side is 18". (This is like measuring a sleeve.)
The collar in the back is 6.5". It is lined with satin as well. "Armhole to armhole" is about 20" This really means that when it is being worn, the measurement across the bottom of the back is about 27".
This appears to be a medium size. It would probably fit from a size 6 to a size 14. Please read the measurements. We are not experts at sizing. Having said that, stoles are the one item of clothing in which size is not as important.
This stole is in excellent condition. It is clean, soft and supple. There are no tears, wear spots or stains. Although we wish to sell, we prefer to have loyal, satisfied, repeat customers. We do this by fully describing every flaw that we see. You may buy with confidence.
