This is a beautiful shapely covered container with a myriad of uses. Most commonly, it is described as a marmalade jar.
It proudly wears the sixth green mark which means it was made between 1965 to 1980.
Measurements: It is 3.5" base diameter and is 4.5" tall.
The small pottery village of Belleek in Fermanagh County, Ireland had local clay deposits that produced exceptionally translucent goods. It became known as Parian, a soft, mother of pearl glow that became associated with Belleek China.
The world took notice and since 1853, Belleek has been prized.

The marmalade jar is great. What a great addition to my collection. I have several Belleek jars, but this one is one of the best. It is even better than the picture, so delicate. April always finds the greatest treasures.
