Wedgwood China of England produced an unglazed finish called Jasperware.
Wedgwood was founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood, who is now remembered as the "Father of English Potters". He was in the heart of the English potteries and serviced his apprenticeship as a potter before setting up his own business.
After he manufactured a cream-coloured tea and coffee service for Queen Charlotte, wife of George III, she allowed him to style himself "Potter to Her Majesty" and to call his new cream ware Queen's Ware. The rest is history. This is one of the most sought after dinnerware in the market today.
Measurements: It is 9.3" in diameter.
This jasperware plate is in excellent condition. Although we wish to sell, we prefer to have loyal, satisfied, repeat customers. We do this by fully describing every flaw that we see. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. We do not sell damaged items. You may buy with confidence.
