This is a royal blue velvet jewelry container. Most likely this was for a ring, but it could be used for a small pin or earrings. The inside is a beige velvet with a grosgrain ribbon edging and a beige satin inner cover. The top and bottom has a pressurized hinge closure.
How delightful for trinkets, jewelry, the vanity table, storage, traveling and portability. Perhaps one would use it to present an engagement ring.
The prestigious EB Horn Company was on Washington Street in Boston. It opened in 1839. They are still selling both new and antique jewelry.
The price also includes free shipping within the US as well as shipping insurance.
Measurements: It is 2.25" wide, 2" from front to back, 1.5" high. This box is in lovely condition. The bottom is flat. The top is domed.

Do not wash any of the china in the dishwasher. It may cause crazing if boiling water is poured directly into the cup. These are not made for microwave use either.
We do not know the exact materials used in the china. We are selling them as decorative items.
