Hand painted Irish shamrocks drape beautifully across the basket weave Belleek tea cup and saucer. The inside is the same rich cream.
The small pottery village of Belleek in Fermanagh County, Ireland had local clay deposits the produced exceptionally translucent goods. It became known as Parian, a soft, mother of pearl glow that became associated with Belleek China. The world took notice and since 1853, Belleek has been prized.
All the Belleek marks contain the Irish wolfhound, the Devenish Round Tower, the Irish harp and the touch of Irish shamrocks on each end. This lovely Parian ware is known for its translucency and quality. This teacup and saucer proudly wears the eighth blue mark for the years between 1993 to 1997.

Measurements: The saucer has a 5.75" diameter. The cup is 2.5" high and is 3.4" from rim to rim.
