Enjoy the fine craftsmanship of Belleek Fine China of Ireland. The light dances on the stems of shamrocks which are hand painted on the basketweave container. The lid has a twig to lift it off.
The small pottery village of Belleek in Fermanagh County, Ireland had local clay deposits that produced exceptionally translucent goods. It became known as Parian, a soft, mother of pearl glow that became associated with Belleek China.
The world took notice and since 1853, Belleek has been prized.
This is a beautiful shapely covered container with a myriad of uses. Most commonly, it is described as a honey jar, sometimes a mustard container. Some people use it as a bud vase when not in regular use.
It proudly wears the seventh brown mark which means it was made between 1980 to 1993.
