Lily of the Valley by Royal Grafton Tea Cup and Saucer, May Birthday Cup, Antique Tea Cups Vintage, English Bone China Cups
Royal Grafton Bone China of England produced this shapely, charming teacup and saucer. This elegant bloom is frequently associated with traditional feminine values like sweetness, and purity.
The scientific name translates perfectly to “that which belongs to May,” which is just one reason why the flower is the recognized flower for the month of May.
This is not the only moniker by which this flower is known, however. Lily of the valley is often referred to as Jacob’s ladder, May bells, Mary’s tears and May lily, too.
Royal Grafton crafted this bone china featuring an aristocratic handle, soft pleats, detailed gold and a gracious presence. This company was owned by the A B Jones and Sons Ltd at the Grafton Works in Longton, England, one of the Staffordshire Potteries. It began in 1900. This backstamp was issued in 1957 and used until 1961.
Measurements: The saucer is 5.7" in diameter. The cup is 3.1" high and 3.5" from rim to rim.

Do not wash any of the china in the dishwasher. It may cause crazing if boiling water is poured directly into the cup. These are not made for microwave use either.
We do not know the exact materials used in the china. We are selling them as decorative items.
We offer free gift wrapping on most items. It is mentioned in the listing.
