Lefton Teacup, Turquoise Teacup, Japanese Teacup, Vintage Teacup, Aqua Gold Teacup, Lefton Tea Cup, Antique Teacup, Hand Painted
We usually stock English bone china. This Japanese teacup and saucer by Lefton China could not be ignored. It is hand painted. The saucer is especially interesting. It rises up in the center to create a little pedestal for the teacup.
George Zoltan Lefton arrived in the United States from Hungary in 1939. Although Lefton made his living in Hungary in sportswear, his passion for fine porcelain turned from a hobby into a business when he founded the Lefton Company in 1941 in Chicago. After WWII started, he closed that shop. With the help of Nunome, a Japanese friend, he was introduced to contacts in Japan where he was able to establish relationships with china producers.
Lefton China continued to be produced in Japan until the 1970s. Production in the 1980s and beyond moved to Taiwan and Malaysia.

But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
We specialize in custom orders for resellers all over the world. Contact us to discuss the details.
We no longer sell to China or the Middle East. Although the people are lovely, we have had too many delivery problems.
We ship within the continental US for free. For other areas, the order is sent via First Class International Mail with the US Post Office or with Global Shipping, a company that works with Etsy.
Of course, we are happy to work with large orders. Contact us through messages and explain your needs.
Do not wash any of the china in the dishwasher. It may cause crazing if boiling water is poured directly into the cup. These are not made for microwave use either.
We do not know the exact materials used in the china. We are selling them as decorative items.
We offer free gift wrapping on most items. It is mentioned in the listing.
