We have incorrectly listed this as a teapot, coffee pot and chocolate pot. That is because there is a lot of confusion about each. Many people use them interchangeably too.
All this is because boiled tea leaves float to the top and boiled coffee grounds sink to the bottom.
These pots might look similar but to tea connoisseurs, there are differences between a teapot, a coffee pot and a hot chocolate pot. To put it very simply, a tea pot is short and stout. A coffee pot is tall, and stout. A chocolate pot is tall and slim. Because all 3 liquids act differently, their spouts will also be different.
In a teapot, the spout will be lower to the bottom of the pot, while a chocolate pot will have the shortest stout. We are actually offering a coffee pot or sometimes it is used as a chocolate pot.
This is by Aynsley Bone China of England. They are well known for their teacups, but they did produce other wonderful pieces. There is a tip tab on the underside of the lid.
Did you know that Princess Diana chose Aynsley as the company to provide her wedding china from the porcelain industry?
Aynsley was owned by John Aynsley at the Portland Works in Longton, England. They were part of the Staffordshire Potteries since 1864.
Measurements: The base is 4" in diameter. It is 8.5" high and 8" from the spout to the outer handle. It holds 36 liquid ounces or this is called a six cup pot.
