Charm your guest with this romantic Belleek bowl. The shamrocks dance across the basketweave background. It is no surprise that this is called the Shamrock Ware pattern. The interior is the a pale yellow iridescent .
This Irish piece proudly wears the second black mark used from the 1891 to 1926. Of course, it was crafted in Ireland. It was probably meant to be a sugar bowl, but because of the lid, it is also useful as a candy dish, vanity or desk accessory too.
The small pottery village of Belleek in Fermanagh County, Ireland had local clay deposits that produced exceptionally translucent goods. It became known as Parian, a soft, mother of pearl glow that became associated with Belleek China.
The world took notice and since 1853, Belleek has been prized.
